Cannabis Analyst Role

We are seeking a fundamental research analyst to initiate coverage across the cannabis space. Candidate must have cannabis investment research experience (buy-side or sell-side). Candidate will generate investment opportunities, monitor companies/events, track market dynamics, construct models, etc.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Analyze and identify investment opportunities  

-Track and update portfolio company and industry news/events   

-Manage and build valuation models, dashboards, and universe tracking  

-Interface with investor relations, companies, conferences, roadshows, etc. 

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

-Minimum 3 years of Wall Street experience covering the cannabis sector (background in ECM a plus) 

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly pitch ideas 

-Financial and data analysis, including financial statements and modeling, market and pricing estimates (background in statistics a plus) 

-Professionalism, maturity, self-starter, and attention to detail and process 

 

Therapeutics Associate Role

We are seeking a fundamental research associate to work with the existing analysts on our team. Candidate must have therapeutics investment research experience (buy-side or sell-side). Additional experience within clinical device/biotech field is a plus. The candidate will support senior investment professionals on investment opportunities, monitoring companies/events, tracking of market dynamics, modeling, etc.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Analyze and identify investment opportunities by interpreting complex medical, scientific and technical data (memos, checklists, and financial/scientific due diligence)

-Track and update portfolio company and industry news/events

-Manage internal valuation models, dashboards, and universe tracking

-Interface with investor relations, companies, KOL’s, conferences, roadshows, etc.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

-Undergraduate degree (advanced/relevant Master’s degree is a plus)

-4-8 years of total experience (minimum 3 years of buyside or sell-side experience)

-Experience structuring and executing options trades, delta/gamma/theta hedging

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly pitch ideas

-Financial and data analysis, including financial statements and modeling, market and pricing estimates, and clinical data (background in statistics a plus)

-Professionalism, maturity, self-starter, and attention to detail and process

Crossover Investor Role

We are seeking an experienced venture-crossover investor to join our team in NY. This candidate will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for the entire process of sourcing, diligence, tracking, and executing potential new deals. Candidate must have expertise making crossover investments within biotech, specialty pharmaceuticals, clinical devices, and related areas. Candidate must also have a proven track record of success, including an extensive network of similar investors, club deals, and companies/issuers. You will benefit from our research and deal team to help assess opportunities, and with initial success may build a dedicated team and expand the business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Generate deal flow

-Lead diligence process, develop investment memos, make investment recommendations

-Negotiate term sheets and investment documents

-Execute deals, monitor companies

 

Qualifications and Skills:

-Minimum of 10 years investing experience (at least 5 years in a crossover role within clinical healthcare)

-Relevant experience/scientific knowledge within biotech preferred (experience in specialty pharma or clinical devices also acceptable)

-Extensive network with firms in the healthcare venture capital and crossover space

-Proven track record with crossover investments and club deals

 

 

 

 

Operations Associate Role

We are seeking an Operations Associate to support our team of investment professionals. Candidate will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for trade support, booking, and settlement. Candidate must be detail-oriented and have significant experience with Enfusion.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Monitor and manage all aspects of trade flow 

-Maintain Firm’s centralized positions, prices, & PnL  

-Resolve breaks and generate position reconciliations  

-Liaise with Portfolio Managers, Trading, Compliance, and third parties for all trade settlement issues 

-Maintain all operational components of Firm’s internal portfolio accounting system (Enfusion)  

-Process corporate actions and manage restricted list 

-Enhance reporting processes and procedures  

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

-3-5 years of trade operations support in hedge funds   

-Must have direct and extensive experience with Enfusion-Integrata  

-Experience across long/short domestic and foreign equities, options, warrants, PIPEs, and private placements  

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

-Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to understand, analyze, and creatively solve problems 

 

 

 

 

Therapeutics Asset Development Role

We are seeking an experienced business development professional who will focus on therapeutics asset development - sourcing, diligence, tracking, and acquiring potential new assets for further development. Candidate must have expertise within biotech, specialty pharmaceuticals, clinical devices, and/or related areas

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Source potential licensing/acquisition opportunities (preclinical/clinical, and academic/industry)

-Due diligence process for all licensing opportunities

-Develop new opportunities by networking with KOLs, physicians, researcher centers, universities, and industry colleagues

-Pitch to senior management from scientific, medical and commercial perspectives

-Valuation and negotiation process for proposed assets

 

Qualifications and Skills:

-Minimum 10 years of pharma/biotech therapeutics and clinical development experience (additional Wall Street experience a plus)

-Extensive network in the space (IP holders in pharma, universities, industry, KOLs, etc.)

-Previous IP in-licensing and acquisition experience, including track record of structuring, negotiations and deal execution, and post-deal oversight

-Strong project management skills (budgeting, retaining and directing consultants, working with CMOs and CROs, and managing timelines)

-Motivated, self-starter

Neuroscience Biotech Analyst Role

We are seeking a neuroscience-focused biotech research analyst to work with our existing team. Candidate must have direct biotech therapeutics investment research experience (buy-side preferred, or sell-side with very strong direct neuro experience). The candidate will work on investment opportunities, monitoring companies/events, tracking of market dynamics, financial modeling, etc.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a healthcare analyst to support the team in our NY office. Candidate will research investment opportunities (both independently and in concert with existing research team), monitor companies/events, track market dynamics, and build financial models. Candidate must have healthcare investment research experience covering the mid-large cap biotech and pharma spaces.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Analyze investment opportunities; identify event path, expectations, and variant perception

We are seeking a short-focused fundamental research analyst to work with our existing investment team.  Candidate must have buy-side healthcare investment research experience, ideally within therapeutics.  The candidate will recommend short investment opportunities, monitor companies/events, track market dynamics, build financial models, etc.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Identify short selling opportunities through fundamental analysis of mechanism of action, clinical data, regulatory path, competitive landscape, and market modelling/valuation including the preparation of memos, checklists, and financial/scientific due diligence  

-Monitor buy and sell side expectations, event path, entry and exit prices 

-Track and update portfolio company and industry news/events   

-Manage internal valuation models, dashboards, and universe tracking  

-Interface with investor relations, companies, KOL’s, conferences, roadshows, etc. 

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

-Minimum 3 years of buy-side experience, with strong bias towards shorting
